Protect your smile while you play

A sports mouthguard is designed to help protect teeth and surrounding tissues during activities where contact or impact can occur. Our team can assess your mouth and discuss a custom-fitted mouthguard, including fit considerations for growing children and people undergoing orthodontic treatment.

What we can discuss

  • Sports mouthguard assessment and fitting
  • Advice about use with braces or changing teeth
  • Fit checks and replacement discussions
  • Cleaning, storage and ongoing care

Making an informed choice

A sports mouthguard reduces risk but cannot prevent every injury. It is different from an orthodontic aligner or a night splint for grinding. If you grind or clench your teeth, ask for a separate assessment rather than using a sports guard as a substitute.

What to expect

One step at a time.

01

Discuss your sport

Tell us about the activity and any existing mouthguard.

02

Assess & fit

Check your teeth and plan an appropriate fit.

03

Use & maintain

Learn how to wear, clean and store the guard and when to have it reviewed.

Helpful answers

Your questions,
talked through.

Will a mouthguard straighten my teeth?

A sports mouthguard is for protection, not tooth alignment. Orthodontic treatment is a separate service.

Can a child with braces wear one?

Ask the dentist about a suitable design and regular fit reviews as teeth move.

When should it be replaced?

Bring it for review if it becomes damaged, loose or uncomfortable, or if your teeth or bite change.

Your smile. Your pace.

We would love
to see you smile.
